The race, in words
In the Open division at Johannesburg 2026, Crispen Kadyamusuma crossed the line in 1:33:36: 263rd of 740 men, faster than 65% of the field.
A station race more than a running one: 84% of the field beaten on the stations, against 46% on the runs. Nowhere gained more than the burpee broad jumps: 3:00 on the median. A harder second half: 2:18 more lost to the middle of the field after halfway than before it.
Johannesburg ran slow: the 210 athletes who also raced elsewhere this season were about 2:51 slower here than at their other races.
