The race, in words
In the Open division at Maastricht 2025, Orelien Nicaise crossed the line in 1:25:52: 279th of 584 men, faster than 52% of the field.
Legs and stations told different stories: 66% of the field beaten on the runs, 36% on the stations. If there was time left out there, it was on the wall balls, 3:45 behind the median. A harder second half: 1:58 more lost to the middle of the field after halfway than before it.
Maastricht ran slow: the 1,310 athletes who also raced elsewhere this season were about 2:40 slower here than at their other races.
