The race, in words
Sebastian Schmitz finished 403rd of 1,352 men in the Open division at Maastricht 2025, in 1:22:13, faster than 70% of the field.
Legs and stations told different stories: 84% of the field beaten on the runs, 50% on the stations. If there was time left out there, it was on the burpee broad jumps, 0:34 behind the median. Stronger after halfway: 2:51 better against the middle of the field than before it.
Maastricht ran slow: the 1,310 athletes who also raced elsewhere this season were about 2:40 slower here than at their other races. 6:26 slower than at Cologne 2025, the previous Open race.
