The race, in words
Danny Livings finished 403rd of 1,066 men in the Open division at Madrid 2024, in 1:22:16, faster than 62% of the field.
Nowhere gained more than the sled push: 1:15 on the median. If there was time left out there, it was on the sandbag lunges, 0:42 behind the median. A harder second half: 2:31 more lost to the middle of the field after halfway than before it.
Madrid ran slow: the 596 athletes who also raced elsewhere this season were about 2:13 slower here than at their other races. 4:18 faster than at London 2023, the previous Open race.
