The race, in three figures
The race, in words
Ricky Staniland finished 423rd of 674 men in the Open division at Nice 2024, in 1:31:00.
Legs and stations told different stories: 54% of the field beaten on the runs, 26% on the stations. If there was time left out there, it was on the wall balls, 2:24 behind the median. A harder second half: 4:26 more lost to the middle of the field after halfway than before it.
Nice ran slow: the 445 athletes who also raced elsewhere this season were about 1:49 slower here than at their other races.
