The race, in three figures
The race, in words
Andrew Bergeron finished 507th of 895 men in the Open division at New York 2024, in 1:32:31.
Legs and stations told different stories: 56% of the field beaten on the runs, 24% on the stations. If there was time left out there, it was on the wall balls, 4:42 behind the median. The race faded late: the second half went 3:26 worse against the middle of the field than the first.
New York gave the field time back: about 1:39 faster than the average race this season, by 551 athletes who raced both. 3:00 slower than at Gainful Anaheim 2024, the previous Open race.
