The race, in words
In the Open division at Houston 2023, Dennis Garcia crossed the line in 1:23:10: 49th of 199 men, faster than 75% of the field.
The burpee broad jumps were the standout, 1:09 quicker than the median and 44th of 199. On the wall balls the field had the edge, by 0:44. The race faded late: the second half went 2:59 worse against the middle of the field than the first.
Athletes who raced both Houston 2023 and Dallas 2022 were 3:22 faster here, so this time looks a little better than it was.
