The race, in words
In the Open division at Karlsruhe 2026, Fevzi Sürer crossed the line in 1:23:42: 377th of 1,003 men, faster than 62% of the field.
Legs and stations told different stories: 80% of the field beaten on the runs, 43% on the stations. If there was time left out there, it was on the sled push, 1:00 behind the median. Paced to finish: the second half went 1:41 better against the middle of the field than the first.
Karlsruhe ran slow: the 835 athletes who also raced elsewhere this season were about 1:02 slower here than at their other races. 0:54 slower than at Izmir 2026, the previous Open race.
