The race, in words
In the Open division at Mexico City 2026, Alex Linarez crossed the line in 1:24:58: 248th of 1,504 men, faster than 84% of the field.
A station race more than a running one: 90% of the field beaten on the stations, against 70% on the runs. The burpee broad jumps were the standout, 2:12 quicker than the median and 111th of 1,504. Paced to finish: the second half went 2:07 better against the middle of the field than the first.
Mexico City ran slow: the 954 athletes who also raced elsewhere this season were about 4:46 slower here than at their other races. That was 4:00 off the time at Acapulco 2026.
