The race, in three figures
The race, in words
Stephen Downey finished 1,142nd of 1,917 men in the Open division at London 2025, in 1:25:46.
Legs and stations told different stories: 50% of the field beaten on the runs, 30% on the stations. If there was time left out there, it was on the wall balls, 3:11 behind the median. A harder second half: 6:46 more lost to the middle of the field after halfway than before it.
London ran fast: the 1,383 athletes who also raced elsewhere this season were about 1:32 quicker here than at their other races.
