The race, in words
In the Open division at Doha 2024, Alberto Castaldi crossed the line in 1:21:49: 102nd of 272 men, faster than 63% of the field.
Legs and stations told different stories: 77% of the field beaten on the runs, 46% on the stations. If there was time left out there, it was on the wall balls, 0:47 behind the median. A harder second half: 2:17 more lost to the middle of the field after halfway than before it.
Doha ran fast: the 119 athletes who also raced elsewhere this season were about 2:55 quicker here than at their other races.
