The race, in three figures
The race, in words
In the Open division at Glasgow 2024, Ben Crawshaw crossed the line in 1:25:17: 843rd of 1,784 men, faster than 53% of the field.
A station race more than a running one: 73% of the field beaten on the stations, against 42% on the runs. Nowhere gained more than the sled pull: 1:43 on the median. The race faded late: the second half went 5:20 worse against the middle of the field than the first.
Athletes who raced both Glasgow 2024 and Birmingham 2023 were 4:16 faster here, so this time looks a little better than it was.
