The race, in three figures
The race, in words
In the Open division at Manchester 2022, Rob German crossed the line in 1:17:03: 100th of 476 men, faster than 79% of the field.
Legs and stations told different stories: 93% of the field beaten on the runs, 58% on the stations. On the wall balls the field had the edge, by 1:40. The race faded late: the second half went 3:28 worse against the middle of the field than the first.
Athletes who raced both Manchester 2022 and Birmingham 2021 were 4:26 faster here, so this time looks a little better than it was.
