The race, in words
In the Open division at Chicago 2020, Federico Lentini crossed the line in 1:24:40: 41st of 162 men, faster than 75% of the field.
Legs and stations told different stories: 88% of the field beaten on the runs, 64% on the stations. The burpee broad jumps were the standout, 1:57 quicker than the median and 8th of 162. The race faded late: the second half went 2:10 worse against the middle of the field than the first.
That was 8:20 off the time at Essen 2019.
