The race, in words
In the Open division at Geneva 2026, Nicolas Gmünder crossed the line in 1:20:22: 478th of 1,414 men, faster than 66% of the field.
A station race more than a running one: 85% of the field beaten on the stations, against 40% on the runs. Nowhere gained more than the wall balls: 2:08 on the median. A harder second half: 1:35 more lost to the middle of the field after halfway than before it.
Geneva ran slow: the 824 athletes who also raced elsewhere this season were about 1:05 slower here than at their other races. 5:24 slower than at Barcelona 2026, the previous Open race.
