The race, in words
In the Open division at Barcelona 2023, Tim Flynn crossed the line in 1:17:28: 208th of 594 men, faster than 65% of the field.
The sandbag lunges were the standout, 0:56 quicker than the median and 109th of 594. If there was time left out there, it was on the burpee broad jumps, 1:08 behind the median. Paced to finish: the second half went 3:41 better against the middle of the field than the first.
Athletes who raced both Barcelona 2023 and Valencia 2022 were 2:31 faster here, so this time looks a little better than it was.
